Well, this is a huge series as we all know. There are more than a dozen games and spin offs of the Final Fantasy series. They're widely popular all over the world, but there are still people who never heard of the words "Final Fantasy."

Anyways, we've all been one of those people at one time in our lives. The point of this thread is to tell what got you into FF. Was it one game? Was it a friend? Was it some advertisement or video one some website? We want to know what brought each of you into the mesmerizing world of Final Fantasy, so do tell.


My first introduction of Final Fantasy was just a glance. I had never heard of the series before, and I was nine at the time. I had just gotten a PS2 for Christmas, and I went game shopping at a local Best Buy. I was just browsing shelves when my attention was caught by a nice blond boy holding a blue sword. Yes, my first FF was FFX. Great game and it is now still my favorite. That's all.

I guess it all started when my brother rented FF7. He rented it, but we didn't play it for some reason. We took it back to the shop a few days after getting it - waste of time. But there was always something about it... i dunno if it was because i was just a kid at the time or what, but i really wanted to see it again. I went back to the rental shop, and couldn't find it anywhere - niether could the guy who own the place.

Then began my hunt. I looked in almost every shop, and one day, i did find it. I was so happy, and carefully put in the PSOne. And it started to play. I got into it right away, lol! Although i got stuck on a part for about a year... no really a year! I guess i was too young to really understand what you had to do, lol!

And FF7 is still my favourite...

It was five years my brother brought home Final Fantasy VIII that he was borrowed from a friend of his. It took me a year to start getting intressed in playing Final Fantasy, and since then I've nevered looked back. The 1st Final Fantasy game that I played and beaten was Final Fantasy X-2, I enjoyed the game play, & storyboard, that game got me hooked on Final Fantasy, great game for rookies that nevered played Final Fantasy before.
Since then I've beaten 6 Final Fantasy games (VII, VIII, IX, X, X-2, XII).
